Is there a limit to the amount of luggage I can bring aboard?
You may bring a reasonable amount of luggage on the yacht without charge. All luggage must be securely packed and clearly labeled with your full name, the name of the yacht, and your suite number, which will be written on luggage labels that will be provided upon arrival at the port.
As luggage restrictions and fees may vary by airline, class of service and destination or departure airport, you may be charged additional fees at check-in if the weight and size of your luggage and/or the number of pieces exceed the airline’s luggage allowance. For the most up-to-date luggage allowance policies and weight/size restrictions, we suggest you or your travel professional consult directly with the airlines or visit their websites, most of which are updated regularly with latest policies.
Can I send my luggage ahead of my voyage to the yacht?
Guests may choose to have their luggage transported directly from their home to the yacht and back again utilizing the services of Luggage Forward. This allows guests to travel to and from the yacht without the burden of transporting luggage. For more information on this service, visit: app.luggageforward.com.
Will I receive luggage tags ahead of my voyage?
Luggage tags will not be sent to your home before your voyage. Upon arrival to the port terminal, your luggage will be checked in, collected and delivered directly to your suite. In order to identify your luggage, labels will be affixed to each piece at the pier with your name and suite number, including carry-on and checked bags.
Can I invite a visitor aboard in a port of call?
Guests wishing to invite visitors on board while in port should contact The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Special Services team who will be happy to assist. Email special.services@ritz-carltonyachtcollection.com for the latest information.
Will I be required to declare items with customs?
We suggest you consider registering any foreign-manufactured items, such as cameras, watches, binoculars, and electronic equipment, with U.S. Customs prior to leaving home. Although not required, this may prevent the need to provide proof of purchase or pay duty on these items upon your return. Each traveler returning to the U.S. is usually allowed a duty-free exemption of $800 USD, which may vary depending on the countries you have visited. An additional $1,000 USD worth of purchases may be brought in and taxed at a reduced flat duty rate. There are limits on the amount of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, cigars, and other tobacco products you may include in your duty-free personal exemption. For complete information, visit the travel section of www.cbp.gov or contact the U.S. Customs office in your area. If you are not a U.S. resident, contact the customs agency in your country.
When is Embarkation and Disembarkation?
Arrival times will vary by voyage and the port of departure. Generally, arrival day check-in will open for guests at 12:30 PM. Guests must be on board two hours prior to departure time (or no later than 7:00 PM when the yacht’s departure is after 8:00 PM).
If air is booked independently, guests should be mindful of the arrival and departure times for their voyage. As a general rule, arrival day flights should arrive at least four hours prior to the yacht’s scheduled departure time. Departure day flights should not be scheduled to arrive less than four hours from the scheduled arrival time of the yacht. Guests who arrange their air travel through The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will have the yacht’s schedule taken into consideration.
On departure day, guests will normally be asked to depart their suites by 8:00 AM, which allows the yacht’s Ladies and Gentlemen to prepare for incoming guests. Departing guests are welcome to enjoy the public areas of the yacht while waiting to depart, with most services open for their comfort. Depending on the clearance from local authorities, guests can begin to depart the yacht between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM and must complete immigration by 9:00 AM in ports where this is a requirement.
From the yacht’s gangway, guests are guided to the terminal to identify their luggage before meeting their ground transportation.
What documentation is required for embarkation?
Passports are required for all guests boarding the yacht and must be valid for six months after the voyage’s completion date. In addition, guests should have in their possession visas and any other documents necessary for the scheduled ports of call and departure. Due to airline security measures, the guest’s passport name must match the name on their booking or they may be denied boarding. Passports will be collected at check-in and securely stored for the duration of the voyage.
Visa requirements and passport regulations vary by destination. We ask that guests obtain the appropriate and valid travel and health documents prior to sailing. Without such proper documentation, guests will not be allowed to board the yacht.
We encourage you to visit Pinnacle Travel Document Systems for assistance with visa and U.S. passport processing at www.PinnacleTDS.com, or by calling 1-888-838-4867.
Can I sail if I am pregnant?
Expectant mothers are required to supply a medical certificate to validate that it is safe for them to travel. The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection cannot accommodate women who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy at the time of sailing.
Can I bring my service animal with me on my voyage?
All service animal inquiries should be discussed with your Reservation Services Agent or Travel Professional at the time of booking. Guests traveling with an approved service animal should independently consult local authorities at each port of call to determine permission to travel. Service animals do not include pets, service dogs in training, or emotional support dogs and as such, these animals will not be permitted on board the yacht.
Is proof of vaccination required to sail?
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection welcomes all guests regardless of vaccination status. Health and safety protocols, including but not limited to, inoculation requirements, and regional travel restrictions vary by travel destination and are subject to change without notice. Entry requirements into the embarkation port and other ports in the cruise itinerary may include, but are not limited to, evidence of required inoculations and personal health declarations. The guest is solely responsible for obtaining such documentation and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection shall not hold any liability for denied entry due to failure to produce the required documentation.

On voyages that embark or disembark in the United States, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is required by federal law to report onboard felonies and missing U.S. nationals to federal agencies. The Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act (CVSSA) requires each cruise line embarking or disembarking passengers in the U.S. to include a link to the statistics for cruise line incidents website maintained by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Drone Declaration and Use Policy
Guests who wish to bring a drone onboard must declare the device at embarkation and provide its make, model, and declared value. The guest must also provide proof of current insurance coverage that fully covers loss, theft, damage, or liability arising from the drone’s presence or use.
By bringing a drone onboard, the guest expressly acknowledges and agrees that the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection assumes no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the drone, including but not limited to its loss, theft, damage, malfunction, confiscation, or any injury, damage, or claim arising from its possession or operation.
Drones must be stored securely within the guest’s suite at all times while onboard and may only be removed for use ashore. Prior to taking the drone ashore, the guest is solely responsible for confirming with local authorities that drone importation and operation are permitted and for identifying approved flight zones.
Flying drones from the vessel, within any port area, or near other yachts, ships, or maritime facilities is strictly prohibited. Any violation of this policy may result in confiscation of the drone and/or disembarkation of the guest at the guest’s sole expense.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection expressly disclaims all responsibility and liability for any incident, damage, or claim arising from or related to the possession, transport, or operation of drones, whether onboard or ashore.
