Piano Land is a cruise ship in service for Astro Ocean, a newly-formed Chinese cruise line. It is the first cruise ship of the two major central enterprises that have joined forces to enter the international luxury cruise industry and build a national cruise brand. She is extremely elegant and full of aristocratic atmosphere - the classic layered ducktail design, the interior is equipped with a high atrium with a Tiffany glass ceiling, a panoramic bar surrounded by 180-degree floor-to-ceiling glass, a wide seaside promenade, ample space, complete facilities, and warm and friendly decoration. It is a veritable paradise on the sea. She originally entered service in April 1995 as Oriana for P&O Cruises, and was named by Queen Elizabeth II. She was built by Meyer Werft at their shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, and measures 69,153 gross tons. As Oriana, she held the Golden Cockerel trophy in recognition of being the fastest ship in the P&O Cruises fleet from 1997, when she succeeded her fleetmate Canberra, to her departure in 2019.
